EDI Declaration

| Equity, Diversity and Inclusion |

The importance of issuing an EDI statement for the Dialogue Network stems from our desire to take respectful and concrete action both within the organisation and with our partners at the national level. Since we work in the field of intercultural dialogue, we seek to strengthen our social ties through projects that raise awareness of how we act in the presence of a diversity of voices.

The Canadian Francophonie is not a single voice: it is pluralistic and dynamic, with a variety of cultures within it. To this end, the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion allow us to revisit our organisation's relationship with the diversity of Francophone voices in Canada, beyond the projects we already have with the Canadian Francophonie.

Putting these principles into practice also helps us explore new social ties with Francophile, immigrant and Indigenous communities in order to establish an inclusive dialogue that would allow us to deepen our reflections on the broader identification of the Canadian Francophonie and its role in pursuing this inclusive dialogue.

Equity, diversity and inclusion are not values in their own right. They are principles that guide us in better understanding the challenges of dialogue within Canada. This understanding allows us to build bridges between cultural organisations or institutions and more distant audiences, thanks to tailor-made projects. by, for and with them. Thus, the Dialogue Network recognises that these principles are not taken for granted. They are integrated into our projects, programmes, publications and development strategies.
