Grants for Organizations
ELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS
- A registered non-profit organization in Canada.
Under the program, legally established Canadian non-profit organizations under federal, provincial, or territorial law are eligible applicants. All applicants must provide their incorporation number and business number to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) at the time of application for funding.
Or
- A Band Council
and
- Have had an uninterrupted legal existence for at least three (3) years on the date of application and have been active since registration.
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
To be eligible for funding under the VIF Program – Grants for Organizations, your project must:
- Contribute to the program’s objectives.
- Target youth aged 14 to 30 or a portion of this group.
- Take place entirely in Canada.
- Take place mainly in person (at least 80% of activities must be in person), although some components can be carried out virtually before or after.
- Be conducted in French.
- Directly involve young people; they must play an active role in the project (development, implementation, and evaluation).

THE IMPACT OF OUR GRANTS
The VIF Program proudly supports 17 youth-led initiatives from non-profit organizations across Canada, with total funding of $835,000. Coordinated by the Dialogue Network and funded by Canadian Heritage, this program gives young people aged 14 to 30 the opportunity to come together around meaningful projects that promote engagement in French, strengthen linguistic security, and foster a sense of belonging to the Francophonie. Selected from 118 applications, these initiatives will offer youth unique opportunities to create, connect, and actively participate in their communities from coast to coast.

Noir et Fier 2026 – Vers une nouvelle génération

Project Description:
From February 1 to 29, 2026, Théâtre Cercle Molière will proudly celebrate Black History Month with a special edition of Noir et Fier, which also marks the theatre’s 100th anniversary. Throughout the month, over 1,500 youth aged 14 to 30 will be invited to take part in a series of artistic, educational, and festive activities, including a youth symposium, celebration evening, podcast, school visits, and a theatre play. The event aims to strengthen young people’s sense of belonging, amplify their voices, and highlight the richness and diversity of Manitoba’s Francophone community festives : colloque jeunesse, soirée de festivités, balado et visites scolaires, pièce de théâtre. L’événement vise à renforcer le sentiment d’appartenance des jeunes, à valoriser leurs voix et à mettre en lumière la richesse et la diversité de la francophonie manitobaine.

CINE ACADEMY TOUR

Project Description:
CINE ACADEMY TOUR is a travelling series of creative workshops on the theme of cinema, aimed at French-language and French immersion schools as well as community centres. It will run from September 2025 to the end of February 2026. The program targets French-speaking youth aged 14 to 30, as well as anglophones learning French.
Its goal is to strengthen the use of French through artistic creation, using an inclusive, educational, and creative approach. Led by a professional in the film industry, the workshops introduce participants to film analysis, scriptwriting, filming, and editing. Each group leaves with a short film they imagined, filmed, acted in, and edited themselves.
A total of 60 workshops are planned across 10 cities.
CINE ACADEMY TOUR explores the world of cinema in a fun, interactive, and engaging way — with an educational foundation. The themes serve as a gateway to imagination and limitless creativity.

Conseil jeunesse provincial (CJP)

Bushwak 2025 + Congrès Là pour ÇA de la FJCF

Project Description:
Bushwak is a summer camp in the great outdoors for French-speaking young adults (ages 18 to 30) from Manitoba. From August 28 to September 1, 20 to 25 participants will take part in a fully immersive French-language experience featuring workshops, challenges, concerts, and more. The camp aims to strengthen outdoor skills, interpersonal abilities, and self-confidence.
Through its national component, members of our board of directors will also have the opportunity to take part in a training session offered by the FJCF as part of the national congress Là pour ÇA. Scheduled for February 2026, this congress will bring together over 70 youth from across the country for workshops, conferences, and dialogue — all designed to encourage civic engagement and support youth leadership in governance.

Nightwalks with Teenagers

Project Description:
Nightwalks with Teenagers will be part public performance, part nighttime stroll, and part invitation to intergenerational dialogue. It will create an experimental social space where youth voices are valued equally alongside those of adults.
In September and October 2025, 25 teenage performers, supported by the renowned company Mammalian Diving Reflex, will create six social performances in the form of guided walks through Vancouver, during which they will invite 500 audience members to experience the city through their eyes.

Project Description:
With the goal of strengthening the network’s expertise and youth governance, the Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française (FJCF) will host Là pour ÇA, a dynamic pan-Canadian congress, in Ottawa in winter 2026. Designed BY and FOR youth aged 14 to 25, this gathering will allow participants to connect, develop their skills, deepen their self-understanding, and discover the richness and diversity of the national Francophone youth network — all in French!
To meet the specific needs of youth from Canada’s official language minority communities, as well as French-speaking youth whose first language is not French but who wish to take an active role in their communities, Là pour ÇA will feature workshops, conferences, and interactive exchange activities. The event will equip young people with the tools to strengthen their community involvement and foster active civic engagement.

Project Description:
The project offers an in-person cultural and artistic program for French-speaking youth in British Columbia, centered around two key events: Crescendo, a performing arts showcase, and the Franco-Colombian Improvisation League (LIFC). These events aim to foster artistic expression, strengthen linguistic security, and build a sense of belonging to the Francophone community among French-speaking youth aged 14 to 18 in British Columbia.
Crescendo allows young people to showcase artistic performances in front of a live audience following a process of auditions, mentorship, and training. The LIFC brings together around 65 youth through local training sessions and a provincial tournament held during the Festival du Bois.
These gatherings provide Francophone youth living in a minority context with unique opportunities to express themselves in French, build lasting connections, and find inspiration in Francophone artistic role models.

Programmation ados 2025-2026

Project Description:
The Programmation ados 2025–2026 project involves the development of an entirely new initiative by and for teenagers in Beauport, launching in fall 2025. It includes the creation of a brand-new creative workshop tailored to this age group, focusing on digital technologies such as projection mapping and stop-motion animation.
The project will also introduce a fully teen-focused component to two touring productions in the organization’s fall/winter programming: a long tour through Francophone communities in the Atlantic provinces (September to November 2025), and a presentation project at the Matane–Baie-Comeau ferry terminal (December 2025 to January 2026).
Altogether, the Beauport initiative and the teen-focused components in the Atlantic provinces, Matane, and Baie-Comeau are expected to reach approximately 800 youth aged 14 to 18.
Théâtre Action

Créer et s’impliquer : vers un théâtre francophone à l’image des jeunes

Project Description:
From September 15, 2025, to March 1, 2026, Théâtre Action will implement a provincial project aimed at strengthening the expression and engagement of young Francophones in Ontario through theater. Artistic support will be offered to approximately 20 troupes from Francophone high schools across several regions of the province. In total, nearly 300 to 350 young people aged 14 to 18 will be supported in the development and presentation of an original theatrical production in French. At the same time, a youth advisory committee will be set up. It will bring together young people aged 16 to 30 from various regions. This committee will be tasked with reflecting on issues affecting Francophone youth, proposing courses of action, and participating in the evaluation of Théâtre Action’s youth projects. The project aims to strengthen linguistic security, civic engagement, and a sense of belonging to Ontario’s Francophone community.
EcoNova Education

Taking care of our ecosystems and rethinking our consumption: climate literacy for secondary schools students in British Columbia (for French schools and French immersion schools)

Project Description:
EcoNova Education’s workshops empower tomorrow’s eco‑conscious citizens and professionals. For students in grades 9 to 12, we offer year‑round thematic programs in French on Ecosystems and Rethinking Consumption. Each program includes a series of 2 to 3 progressively structured workshops and a teacher’s kit with curated resources. Participating students also attend a themed French film screening and launch related school projects. Thanks to Programme VIF, we plan to deliver these programs in person to 20 classes in French and French immersion schools across British Columbia during the 2025–2026 school year (from September 2025 to February 2026). In total, more than 1,500 students aged 14 to 18 are expected to participate. Our initiative will provide numerous opportunities for young Francophone and Francophile Canadians to gather, exchange, and engage in French around ecological projects, supported by the EcoNova team and their teachers.

Project Description:
Les Gailurons Outdoor Centre is proposing an engaging project that will mobilize over 160 young people aged 14 to 17 in the design, construction, and programming of a new mountain bike trail network incorporating educational and environmental elements. The project will include the planting of a food forest, the creation of natural rest areas, as well as hands-on workshops on forest survival and wild foraging. All activities will take place in French and will put young people at the heart of the action by giving them concrete roles throughout the project. The initiative aims to strengthen their sense of belonging, encourage civic participation, and provide them with practical outdoor learning opportunities connected to their environment. Workshops will also be offered to 40 young adults aged 18 to 30.

Project Description:
As part of the 30th anniversary of the Comité Jeunesse franco-Yukon (JeFY), we plan to host a major evening show in December 2025 to celebrate the territory’s French-speaking youth. The project aims to bring together over one hundred people to showcase the talents of young artists, while highlighting their leadership and active role in the community. The initiative will also feature activities specifically for young people aged 19 to 30, encouraging their ongoing engagement in Yukon’s Francophone community.
Finally, the project includes a Canada-wide component, with a delegation of youth attending the Là pour ÇA Congress, an event focused on building connections and developing skills. Our goal is to strengthen young people’s sense of belonging, foster pride in being Franco-Yukoners, and encourage linguistic security, while promoting civic participation and intergenerational exchange.

Project Description:
This project aims to strengthen the cultural pride and identity of young francophones aged 12 to 25 in Nova Scotia. Through a series of mostly face-to-face activities (improvisation workshops, fun evenings in French, intercultural encounters, youth exchanges and training), Rapprochements culturels will create meaningful opportunities to explore various cultural dimensions (Acadian, artistic, sports, immigration, Afro-Nova Scotian, etc.). Partnerships with the FJCF for inter-provincial connections, cultural tours such as the Black Cultural Center, and a host of unifying activities in several regions will ensure a broad and inclusive geographic reach. The project encourages the active involvement of young people in the planning, facilitation and evaluation of activities.

Project Description:
From June 30, 2025, to March 1, 2026, Project Connect will give English-speaking youth in three regions of Québec (Gaspésie, the Laurentians, and the Eastern Townships) the opportunity to lead two in-person community events in French for both English- and French-speaking youth.
The first, small-scale event invites young people to come together and take part in a creative activity while practising their French. The second, larger event, the Human Library, invites them to listen to the life stories of other young people in their community and engage in linguistic exchange.
Project Connect aims to bring young people together to build confidence in speaking French and strengthen their sense of belonging to their community. Reaching 50 youth (ages 14–30) per region, the events will foster connections between English- and French-speaking youth. Y4Y also envisions participants developing closer ties with local organizations, inspiring them to create future bicultural exchange events for their peers.
Théâtre Catapulte

REGARD EXTÉRIEUR

Project Description:
REGARD EXTÉRIEUR will run from September 2025 to February 2026 and will bring together a youth council of 30 to 40 teenagers aged 14 to 18 from three areas of Ottawa: Vanier, Orléans, and Downtown. These young participants will form an artistic advisory community connected to the activities of Théâtre Catapulte.
Through theatre outings, dramaturgy workshops, and open discussions, they will discover Franco-Ottawa theatre and reflect on the issues explored on stage from a teen perspective. Their insights will contribute to the collective creation of a post-performance citizen engagement program designed to engage other young people (both Francophones and Francophiles) as well as the general public.
This initiative, conceived and designed by the REGARD EXTÉRIEUR group, will debut during performances of Pour Maëlle in February 2026, reaching approximately 635 audience members aged 14 to 30. It will be presented again during Théâtre Catapulte’s 2026 to 2028 seasons.

Project Description:
The project will run from June 2025 to February 2026 and will involve around 60 young people aged 12 to 30 from French-language high schools, French immersion programs, and Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. It will consist of a series of artistic workshops in French, offered outside school hours in a safe, inclusive, and creative space.
Information and recruitment sessions will be held with school boards and the university in June and July, followed by in-class visits in French courses in September and October, along with a survey and a call for participation. The project aims to strengthen young people’s linguistic confidence and their sense of belonging to the Francophone community.
Through art, participants will explore themes such as mental health, addictions, and identity, while developing their creativity. Led by an artist and social work technician, the workshops will offer a supportive environment that encourages the daily use of French and fosters intercultural exchanges.

Génération d’encre

Project Description:
Génération d’encre is a writing café for young francophone and francophile adults in Manitoba (aged 18-35). Twice a month, from September to December, a dozen participants meet at the Café Postal in Saint-Boniface to explore their creativity through workshops led by Anne-Marie Turcotte, a Manitoba-based author inspired by the neo-terroir style. The sessions invite young people to draw on their memories, experiences and roots to create personal narratives, working on both content (characters, places, identity) and form (structure, style, images). A literary cabaret at the halfway point will allow the texts to be shared with an audience. The project will culminate in the publication of a collective collection in February, followed by an official launch in June, highlighting these emerging voices. Génération d’encre aims to build confidence, break down imposter syndrome, and foster an inclusive, creative space.

Francofièvre 2026 : Une édition élargie pour renforcer l’impact jeunesse francophone en Saskatchewan

Project Description:
Francofièvre is the largest Francophone youth cultural gathering in Saskatchewan, alternating annually between Saskatoon and Regina. In February 2026, thanks to this additional funding, the event will take the form of two consecutive days of in-person activities. With the addition of this second day, the event will welcome over 3,000 youth from 50 to 60 Fransaskois and French immersion schools. At the heart of this initiative are young people living their Francophonie by participating in educational, cultural, and artistic activities in French. These activities are designed to strengthen their linguistic security, sense of belonging, and motivation to live fully in French.
