MICROGRANTS FOR YOUTH

Micro-grants from the VIF Program support the organisation of activities, led by and for young people from 14 to 30-year-olds, in partnership with community organisations, enabling young people to meet in person, exchange ideas and get involved in French.

 

An amount of 850$ will be allocated to the funded activities and 150$ to organizations.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be aged between 14 and 30 at the time of submitting your application.

Be legally authorised to work in Canada.

Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.

Agree to be paired with an eligible organisation of your choice, which will be responsible for managing the funds and supporting you in implementing its project.

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES

The activities must take place in person.

The activities must take place in Canada.

Activities must be conducted in French.

Activities must be aimed at young people aged 14 to 30 or a subset of this group.

Activities must demonstrate a direct link to the programme’s objectives.

The activities must take place before 31st March 2027

OBJECTIVES

Bring together young people through activities in French to strengthen their linguistic security and sense of belonging.

CREATE EXCHANGES with youth from different linguistic communities to foster cooperation and appreciation of Canada's official languages

Encourage youth participation in civic and social ENGAGEMENT in French

INCREASE SUPPORT for the learning and use of French in daily life, especially for youth whose first language is not French.
