Les objectifs du Programme VIF

Bring together

young people through activities in French to strengthen their linguistic security and sense of belonging. 

CREATE EXCHANGES

with youth from different linguistic communities to foster cooperation and appreciation of Canada's official languages

Encourage

youth participation in civic and social ENGAGEMENT in French

INCREASE SUPPORT

for the learning and use of French in daily life, especially for youth whose first language is not French. 

Eligible young people

To be eligible for micro-grants under the VIF Programme, you must: 

  • You must be aged between 14 and 30 at the time of submitting your application. 
  • Be legally authorised to work in Canada. 
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. 
  • Agree to be paired with an eligible organisation of your choice, which will be responsible for managing the funds and supporting you in implementing its project. 

 

*If you do not yet have a partner organisation and your application is accepted, the Réseau dialogue may suggest organisations in your region with which you can be matched. 

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES

To be eligible for funding under the VIF Programme, your project must:

  • The activities must take place in person. 
  • The activities must take place in Canada. 
  • Activities must be conducted in French. 
  • Activities must be aimed at young people aged 14 to 30 or a subset of this group. 
  • Activities must demonstrate a direct link to the programme’s objectives. 
  • The activities must take place before 31 March 2027 

Examples of activities that may be eligible for this funding:  

 

  • Informal chat or discussion group on a topic of your choice  
  • Watching a film 
  • Book clubs  
  • Launch of a podcast 
  • Workshop and lecture  
  • Cultural event (e.g. themed day, improvisation, concert, fair, show, etc.) 
  • Sports event (e.g. basketball tournament, tennis, etc.) 
  • Creative workshop  
  • Cooking workshop  
  • Networking evening/day 
  • Open Mic evening/day  
  • Evening/day of board games or quizzes (Kahoot, bingo, etc.) 
  • Karaoke 
  • Exhibitions
