The Programme Valorization of Francophone Initiatives (VIF), supported by the Government of Canada’s 2023–2028 Action Plan for Official Languages through Canadian Heritage, aims to provide young people aged between 14 and 30 with unique opportunities to come together, exchange ideas, encourage one another and get involved in French.
This funding, of up to $80,000, will support key projects relating to linguistic security and offer young people aged between 14 and 30 the opportunity to freely express their creativity.
The VIF Program offers
TWO FUNDING STREAMS
Grants to organizations
This component is intended for larger-scale initiatives led by nonprofit organizations (NPOs), particularly those with a regional, provincial, or national impact.
Microgrants for youth
Young people aged between 14 and 30 can apply for micro-grants to fund youth activities in French.
Program VIF Objectives
Bring TOGETHER young people through activities in French to strengthen their linguistic security and sense of belonging.
Create EXCHANGES with youth from different linguistic communities to foster cooperation and appreciation of Canada’s official languages.
Increase SUPPORT for the learning and use of French in daily life, especially for youth whose first language is not French.
Encourage youth participation in civic and social ENGAGEMENT in French.
